STADLMANN 2015 Gruener Veltliner Badener Berg

Variety: 100% Gruener Veltliner    
Region: Thermenregion, Lower Austria      
Vinyard:  The vineyards are located along the Anninger hill (675m), between the towns of Traiskirchen, Gumpoldskirchen and Pfaffstätten. Age of the vines from 5 to 35 years. No irrigation systems applied (dry farming – principle of terroir characteristic).   
Soil: Calcareous soil (limestone alps) with shell limestone sediments from the primordial ocean (tertiary age). Weathered brown soil (Rendzina and Cambisol) with sandy clay.      
Harvest: End of September
Yield: 2000 l/hectare      
certified: organic, according to EU Regulation No. 203/2012: Control Institute AT-BIO-402
Processing: whole cluster pressing; without pneumatic press       fermentation: at around 18° C in stainless steel   
Refinement: large neutral wood barrels, on fine lees, for 4 months      
Malo-lactic fermentation: none      
Alcohol: 12.5% vol      
Total titrateable acid: 5,5 g/l      
Residual sugars:  2g/l dry          

Taste: yellow-green; fresh apple, lemon, pineapple, peach, blossom scent, white pepper, lively minerality, fine acidity, firm and clear structure, refreshing finish.
